I don't know how they do it. John arrives home from Texas in t minus 19 minutes and I couldn't be more excited. I have been a single mom since Friday practically and for as easy as Reagan usually is, this weekend was a challenge. Reagan developed a pretty bad cold at the end of last week and has had trouble breathing through her stuffy nose at night. This has meant that my girl who used to sleep through the night has been spending most of the past few nights awake. Luckily, it seems the cold is subsiding and John's on duty when he gets home tonight.
On Saturday, we celebrated my grandmother's 94th birthday. John had a presentation to give in class, so Reagan and I drove down with my parents. It amazes me how much the world has changed since her birth in 1914. I can't even imagine how she feels at 94 years old. Grandma is having a hard time remembering exactly who everyone is, but the one person she knows is Reagan. Grandma has a huge amount of love for the tiny baby.
Grandma wanted to snuggle with Reagan. Reagan wanted to rip the flowers off her corsage. Worked out well for both of them, but I had to stand next to them to make sure the baby's breath didn't make it into Reagan's mouth.
On Sunday, Reagan's future babysitter, Alexis, came over to practice her skills and help me during the day. Reagan and Alexis had a wonderful time together and Alexis is well on her way to being an awesome babysitter. She even changed the poopy diaper! I was thrilled!
