As the challenges of raising two young children have started easing and the weather finally is starting to thaw us out, we've begun down a long and challenging road. John and I have been so blessed to have had healthy and happy children, siblings, parents and selves. Our life might be described as a little mundane, but we've been very lucky. It's amazing how quickly that can all change.
As many of you probably know, John's mom was diagnosed in early April with a brain tumor. After a biopsy, it was determined that the tumor was cancerous and she has since started radiation treatment and chemotherapy drugs. With Mary's determination and faith, we are positive that she will push through this cancer and come out on top.
As we support Mary and work through this challenging time in our lives, please say a little prayer for her and be patient with our blogging. And when you say goodnight to your kids or parents or siblings, remember that you never know what tomorrow holds, so hug them a little tighter.
To follow Mary's journey or to send her a little note of encouragement, we have a Caringbridge page set up at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/marykmccarthy.
